What is the 'Validate XHTML' link for?
You may have noticed the World Wide Consortium (W3C) validator link (Validate XHTML) at the bottom of each page in our site. We have included this as a demonstration of our strict commitment to quality.
The W3C sets in place accepted standards for the World Wide Web. By clicking the Validate XHTML link, a W3C validator will evaluate the page markup and display an evaluation report about that web page.
Developers today are creating much more complex web applications.
Passing W3C validation is a deliberate effort requiring attention to the smallest of details.
Failing to pass validation does not necessarily mean poor quality as the validators are extremely particular. Replace the URL in the validation report with Google's home page URL and you may find even they don't pass. However, for those that do pass it suggests that a high level of care has been taken by the developer of that page or web site.
